Shoes Make Your Plus Size Evening Gown Shine!
Cinderella may have had the most beautiful evening gown but it was her lovely glass slippers that really shined at the ball. Evening gowns are resplendent and radiant on their own but when worn with the perfect pair of 'slippers' the look is bewitching and divine. A dress cannot pull off the look all by itself. That is why you need to be decked out in glamour from head to toe.
The right pair of shoes speaks volumes. The shoes you choose for a social occasion should be in the same color family as your dress or slightly darker (but never lighter). This is a general rule but plenty of fashion rules can be broken with no fear of the fashion police coming after you!
If you want extra pizzazz and shine then opt for metallic gold, silver or bronze leather shoes. These always look lovely, especially with evening gowns that sport a sexy side or back slit. If you are in a creative mood then get even more creative with your feet. Go for shoes with beads or a little bit of glitter but whatever you do, do not go too crazy! A little bit often goes a long way.
Great news for plus size ladies - there are plenty of styles of shoes for you! First of all, heels are worn for dancing and social events - the glam factor events. If you can't tolerate a heel, find a shoe that has at least an inch or more. Plus size petite ladies should look at height as beneficial to them since their date might be taller.
You want to look feminine and elegant in your evening gown and coordinating shoes. For summer choose a pair of attractive sandals or slingbacks or a pair of open-toed pumps to complement your dress. Remember that the shoes are supposed to pull the look together but not detract from the dress in any way.
If you are not going to be wearing stockings or pantyhose and have chosen a pair of strappy open toed shoes then make sure your feet are in top form. Smooth out any rough skin on your heels with a pumice stone and either give yourself a pedicure or have one professionally done. Make sure your toenails are trimmed and are looking as attractive as ever with polish that is geared for the occasion. You do not have to coordinate the polish on your toes with that on your fingernails but if it suits you to do that then go right ahead! If you are not feeling good about your feet or simply prefer to keep them covered up then that is fine too. The goal is to feel confident, beautiful and sexy, and to look like the goddess you are!
